Psalm 118: 5-6

For short quotes, a decorated letter adds visual interest to the final works. The decorated letter also serves as the "title" of the piece. Lettering style used in this piece is Italic.

Anemone Bowl

Client wanted three excerpts from scripture incorporated with a purple flower. My floral reference for this piece came from one of the books in the collection, The Flower Painter's Pocket Pallette, illustrated by Elisabeth Harden.

Cherish

Lovely poem written for a one year anniversary gift. Often times these are not titles. I've utilized a layout idea which draws attention to the one line that captures the emotion of the piece. Above all, the wife wanted to say, "I cherish you," written with red ink and extra weight.

Soul

"You are the annointing of my soul!" What girlfriend could resist this? He is so in love. For Christmas, he had so many gifts to present to her. Above all, this is the one gift he was most excited about. He had written his feelings for her down on paper, then asked me to bring them to life. Even I was touched by his gesture.

Proclaimation

Illumination and gold leaf are beautifully expensive. However, for this Proclaimation, I used inexpensive alternatives. The biggest change was using the computer, yes the computer, for the legalease. The calligraphy is used as an accent throughout the document. Illumination features gold gouache, not gold leaf.

Vows

Minimalistic. The visual interest in this piece are the red repeating [perpindicular] lines of calligraphy to the left, "Magic. Meant to be." The actual vows were printed from the computer.
